Hi All,
This should be an option in Joomla itself, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be. Time for an addition Brian?
Anyway, I don't usually use menu item images, but on this occasion I'm using menu images. However, for accessibility, Google PSI is complaining that those images have an alt description of "redundant text" and goes on to explain:
"Informative elements should aim for short, descriptive alternative text. Alternative text that is exactly the same as the text adjacent to the link or image is potentially confusing for screen reader users, because the text will be read twice."
Unfortunately, in the module settings there's no option to add an alt text for the image used. Instead the menu system inserts the menu item title as the alt.
So, I thought I'd look for the file that adds the image/alt to the menu item, but I can't find it, to "hack the core!".
Can anyone point me to the correct file please?
